Study on explosion reaction mechanism and energy release characteristics of HMX-based explosives containing B-Al

Abstract To explore the application of micro-sized B-Al (boron-aluminum) compound powder in enhanced blast explosive(EBX) and thermobaric explosive(TBX), three HMX-based explosives containing (PF-1, PF-2 PF-3)were designed prepared. In test, HMX, micro-Al can promote afterburning effect micro-B, which releases great amount heat, then generates expansible products higher temperature pressure, finally increases duration fireball total explosion.
